PODCAST OBSERVATIONS
By Dave Jackson from the School of Podcasting
WHAT I'VE BEEN UP TO
I know it's been a while since I've sent out a newsletter. I am working hard at something I started in 2021, and I'm still working on it. That is rebuilding the School of Podcasting (almost) from the ground up. The fun part is rebuilding a new version while maintaining the old one. It's fun. One baby step at a time.
I also turned 57 yesterday (2/8). Being in your late 50's for me, my brother and sister is always a little weird as we lost our Mom at 59. It gives you a different perspective (and partially why I'm a bit of a workaholic). So thanks for all the well wishes on Facebook and such.

WHAT CAUGHT MY EYE
I'm reading the book Find Your Red Thread: Make Your Big Ideas Irresistible this is a book that demands you attention. Read it with a notepad, and do the homework. I was reading it on a treadmill, and I want to start over (I'm in chapter 3) and actually do the work.
An AMAZING "comedy special" called Team Coco Presents Moses Storm: Trash White | Official Trailer | HBO Max. This is one of those pieces of entertainment that I was just left wanting more. I knew I had just watched something "outside the box." Most comedians walk to the stage and grab a mic. There is no mic, and the stage is a giant LED screen that he later displays images on as he trigger a camera from the ceiling. Also, extreme vulnerability and comedy mixed in as he display how he is the MASTER of the callback. If you have HBO max, I highly recommend it. I've watched it twice. Once for content, and a second for structure.
THIS QUICK DEMO IS AMAZING. I record audio in a bathroom using a Blue Yeti purposely set up wrong. Wait till you hear how great this audio sounds with the click of ONE button. Watch this quick 4 minute video. It's bananas
While the previous demo was to clean up your guests audio, THIS DEMO shows you how I can clap my hands and the software keeps my voice but removes my hands.
COMING IN THE FUTURE
Along with other answers on what people are doing to grow their audience, I found some people thinking outside the box.
